Last night Travis & I decided to divide and conquer. I put the baby to bed while he reads the kids some books before bed. While I am quietly rocking the baby, I hear a bunch of ruckus from the other room. Now, Trav is known for his story telling. He doesn't have it in him (short attention span+boring) to just read a book or two to the kids. He has to transform HIMSELF into the story. So, I wasn't too surprised to hear him in character, although it sounded scary. I had to see for myself. This is who I found...the kids don't seem too sure. Trav was dressed with a scary mask, talked in some animal voice and made the kids believe that every stuffed animal in our house was a friend of his. Pretty cute I must say but poor cousin, Kenedy, was over for a sleepover. I am not sure if she had sweetdreams or nightmares. Hope she'll come back!

Sadie's Blessing
We had a sweet and lovely day recently. We had the blessing of Sadie Jo and her cousin Jake. We decided to do the blessing at home since Trent and Laura were coming in from out of town. It turned out beautiful.

A bit about Rylee...
Rylee is growing up fast and is accomplishing much these days. With her front teeth missing (among many others) she smiles and encourages everything that comes her way. She just finished a couple of big events recently.

Birthday with Thomas
Nash turned 2 this week-where does time go?!! We spent the day up in Heber Valley with Thomas the Train. We rode the train and saw some beautiful country, played all the games at the train station, ate a yummy dinner, and wrapped it up with cake and ice cream at our house. What a great day with a great kid. Thanks for all those that came with us and made it so special!
(Nash calls her "Jo"-it is the funniest thing)
Nash loved all his sports gear that Grandma Jo and Papa gave to him. This boy is all "sports". He still sleeps with his baseball glove and a whole bed full of basketballs and baseballs.
We Love ya buddy!

Time to come out of hibernation?
I have fallen into the depths of winter, hidden in my cozy cave, eating chocolate covered anything, growing a large tummy that my boy keeps asking; "when is it going to pop?", wondering if spring will really come...ever!! Do you know what I'm talking about? Why do we feel like life is hum-drum with out the sun? Well-we have been busy in doors, snuggling and crossing off "to-do's" when we get around to them. Here is a little update on things while we have been hibernating...
Even though I am inside-my kids are loving the snow with their friends.
We've been playing lots of "pirates/football/cops and robbers" all at the same time.
Rylee was invited to attend a mini drill team clinic, which she loved. She loves Tayler Pulsipher and would love to dance like her one day. So this was a great opportunity. She was able to perform at half-time at the Alta Varsity basketball game. She did great and can't stop talking about it.
The girls and Tayler-who is a dancer at Alta High.
I have been painting and trying to transform a little boys' room into a baby girls' room. I have had so much fun getting ready for a little girl. I must say things have changed over 7 years-even though Rylee was so much fun as well.
I know you all will be so impressed when I tell you that this baby bedding was made just for our new babe. No, not by me, but by my mother. She has spent countless hours putting this together and trying to get this just right for me. I know absolutely nothing about sewing, so when I told her that I found about 13 different fabrics that I love and wondered if she could put something together for me, I am sure she wanted to pass out. But she smiled and said she would love to try. She did a fabulous job. I love, love, love it. The pictures just don't do it justice.
This is the quilt that she put together. You can't see all the detail-but it honestly blows me away to see such beautiful work.
We have enjoyed the little things in life. This is my place setting at dinner the other night when Rylee was in charge of setting the table. She got little pink post-it notes and wrote "I love you so much" and put them on everyone's dinner plates. It was quite cute.
Got to love that girl!
We have successfully made the transfer. Nash is now in his big boy bed. Not only that, but he is sharing a room with his brother and I was afraid that they would never go to sleep. To my surprise, it was a smoother transition than I expected. I love to hear them laugh and talk at night before they fall asleep.

Our Christmas Story...
We hope that your holidays were as wonderful and fun as ours. I think I have finally come to grips that it is over-until next year! Perhaps it has something to do with all the Valentine and Easter stuff displayed in all the stores (good grief)! I was too busy enjoying the holidays to catch up on the blog, but hopefully you won't mind a little peek into our "Christmas Story". These are some of the reasons we love Christmastime.
